About

I'm Calde (Damián Calderón), a product manager who grew up in UX and later took the leap into Innovation. For more than two decades I've turned raw ideas into digital products that solve real problems, always beginning with people and ending with measurable impact. Today my sweet spot sits where product strategy, human‑centered design, and emerging technology like AI meet. I love the healthcare arena, where good work translates into better outcomes, not vanity metrics.

My goal is to close the gap between what new tech can do and what humans actually need. I hunt for unmet pains, reframe them with a systems lens, and turn loose concepts into testable prototypes that reveal the truth fast.

I was almost a philosophy student, and in some way, I still am. I keep coming back to big questions about how we think, how we behave, and how we relate to technology. That curiosity shows up in how I work. I like to think across levels, connect ideas, and turn concepts into systems that are both usable and meaningful. Maybe that’s why I question assumptions, pay attention to unintended consequences, and keep ethics in the room from the very beginning.

Innovation, for me, is a contact sport. I design workshop canvases, put teams to do collaborative mapping and sketching, mess around with design mockups, create scrappy demos, and guide teams through rapid build‑measure‑learn cycles that turn debate into evidence. By stitching together AI opportunities, design thinking, business sense, and facilitation, I help teams spot new angles, align on priorities, and ship solutions that stick even in complex, regulated spaces like healthcare.

Community & Mentoring

Creating UX-IA América Latina together with Claudia Gutierrez and Jose Allona was my answer to a missing space: Spanish‑speaking designers eager to explore AI but lacking guidance.

In one‑on‑one mentoring sessions, I also help product folks sharpen discovery skills or adapt them to the healthcare field, Designers and UX experts grasp ML and AI basics, and founders stress‑test value propositions.
